BIMOTA RACING PREVIEWS THE 2015 ULSTER GRAND PRIX

Thursday, July 30, 2015 - Posted by Stefano

Bimota will return to the Ulster Grand Prix next week after making their real road racing debut at the international event in 2014 with current rider, Ben Wylie. Dubbed The World’s Fastest Road Race, the Ulster Grand Prix follows the 7.4 mile Dundrod Circuit, which snakes through the beautiful countryside of nearby Belfast in Northern Ireland. It is a favorite circuit amongst riders for its flowing nature and large attendance of nearly 50,000 fans. Ben Wylie will return to the Ulster Grand Prix hoping to improve on last years debut there on the Bimota BB3 while teammate, Brandon Cretu, returns to the event after a near 7-year hiatus. Wylie and Cretu are both fresh off an excellent showing at the Isle of Man TT where both riders put the Bimota BB3 through its paces and came away with highly respectable results. Ben Wylie, Team Manager/Rider commented: “The Ulster is always one of my favorite meetings of the year. The bikes are very different to how they were at the TT as we have tried to maintain the BB3’s many good points whilst fixing the issues we had at the Isle of Man. I’m confident in the direction we are going, one of which was the switch to Maxton suspension for the remainder of the season at the Ulster and Macau.” Brandon Cretu, Team Rider, commented: “The Ulster GP is a special event for me as I made my debut to real road racing here back in 2009 which began my journey to where I am today. It is an amazing track and the organizers are top notch. The Ulster Grand Prix race week starts on August 3 with events all week long and the racing concluding on August 8. Practice begins on August 5 and the first race for the Bimota team will be on Thursday August 6. The practice and races will be streamed live via the internet on http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/northern-ireland/motorbikes/. Tune in on practice and race days! The New BB3 TTrofeo

Wednesday, April 01, 2015 - Posted by Stefano Marzola Bimota PR

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qIBF2bWkik&feature=em-upload_owner The debut of the Bimota BB3 T Trofeo with special livery To celebrate the participation of Bimota in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy races in 2015 Announcing The greatest race in motorcycling and Bimota will be present with two BB3 T Trofeos in 2015 from May 31st to June 12th. The elite of Rimini will line up two bikes piloted by professional road races Ben Wylie and Brandon Cretu and to celebrate the occasion Bimota announces a new version of BB3. The T Trofeo. Ben Wylie along with Constantine Blias are the Bimota distributors for the UK, and have their "Amore Moto" dealership in Shropshire. Brandon Cretu is the youngest American to have completed in the TT and in 2015 will also become the first American rider to participate in all four major road races (Northwest 200, IOM TT, Ulster GP, Macau GP). Andrea Acquaviva, head of technical department of Bimota: We have always loved the track and the road races are a wonderful theatre where we can show our passion for motorcycling in our own very successful and unique in terms of technical aesthetic way. The experience gained in these four races will give us further insight and aid the development of the next generation of motorcycles to further improve our range. Finally thanks to the spotlight of races such as the Tourist Trophy we will have the opportunity to greet with a single gesture the "bimotisti" from around the world. Ben Wylie, rider and team manager: Constantine and I are very happy to announce our Bimota Road Racing team and riders for 2015. Brandon coming on board completes our team that will compete in all the major road races this year and we have everything we need for a competitive season. I am confident that we can put Brandon in a position to achieve his best ever results and having already worked with him in the past I really think we can help each other move forward in our careers. On a personal level I want to get back to where I should be, finishing top 10 in TT races! Brandon Cretu pilot: I thought I wasn’t racing this season so being able to close an agreement with Bimota and the Bimota Road Racing Team so quickly is a dream come true. I have known Ben and Con since my first TT, and I have the utmost respect for them and their team. I can’t wait to start the tests, and to contribute with the acquisition of sponsors and to help with the team. I think the Bimota BB3 will take me to my best results ever. 2015 will be an amazing year. Constantine Blias, Team principle: The BB3TT has been prepared in conjunction with the Rimini Factory to withstand the 364 kilometres of a Senior TT race. The Isle of Man offers unique challenges for a manufacturer and whilst some elements of the bike remain standard other areas have to be altered to cope with the stresses that come in real road racing. The fact that in areas the bikes literally fly at over 270kph and in others bottom out at similar speeds make the TT the greatest challenge in motorcycle racing. BIMOTA BB3 T TROFEO To indelibly mark this important participation Bimota has created a dedicated livery for BB3 the flagship of the range. Our most powerful sport bike debuts in the T Trofeo version with the colours of the Italian flag and the logo of the Tourist Trophy. It will juxtapose with the standard colouring of the BB3 (red white and black) and will soon be available for Bimota customers. The official debut took place last weekend at the Manchester Bike Show in the UK.

BIMOTA TO FIELD BEN WYLIE AND BRANDON CRETU DURING 2015 SEASON

Saturday, March 14, 2015 - Posted by Constantine Blias

Iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Bimota, will field seasoned road racers Ben Wylie and Brandon Cretu in 2015.  The effort this season will see Wylie and Cretu onboard the proven Bimota BB3 at all the international road races; Northwest 200, Isle of Man TT, Ulster Grand Prix, finishing off in China at the Macau Grand Prix.  The Bimota BB3 has proven itself an outstanding platform in WSBK competition with regular top 10 finishes in their first season and Christian Iddon put the bike on pole at Assen during a round of British Superbikes.

This will not be the first time Wylie and Cretu have shared an awning, with Cretu working out of the Wylie Racing tent during the 2011 and 2012 TT.  Wylie is no stranger to a full season of real road racing, being a regular contender and top 10 finisher, but 2015 will mark the first time an American has been seen to compete at all of the big four internationals.

Brandon Cretu, Team Rider, commented:

“After I thought I wouldn’t be riding this year, to be able to work up a deal so quickly with Bimota and Ben is a dream come true.  Ben and I have known each other since my first TT and I rate him, his family, and his racing program in the highest regard.  I can’t wait to begin testing with the team and bring not only my riding but also my experience in acquiring sponsors and managing team operations.  I think the Bimota BB3 is going to allow me some of my best finishes ever.  2015 is going to be an outstanding year!”

Ben Wylie, Team Manager/Rider commented:

“Constantine and myself are delighted to announce our two rider Bimota team for 2015.  Bringing Brandon on board completes our vision for a full on attack on the International roads and puts everything in place for a solid season. I am confident we can get the best out of Brandon and having worked together before I feel we can really benefit and learn from each other’s experience. I`m looking forward to riding a bit more this year on a very competitive bike and getting myself back to where I know I should be, fighting for top 10 positions in all 3 big bike TT races. ”
